Table Top Joe is a fok-rock band from Spokane, Washington. Table Top Joe was formed in early 2006 when singer/songwriter Danny Lopez found the need to add a full band to his solo songs. Initially the band began when Danny added his cousin and good friend Eric Balmes to begin playing drums. Eric and Danny had been talking about playing together for years but nothing had ever materialized, so when Eric joined the band it was an immediate fit and they began to play shows as a two piece around Spokane and down to Pullman and Moscow area.

Late in 2006, Table Top Joe began on their new full length record titled “Noose in The Meadow”. To aid in the recording process, Danny asked his older brother Nate Lopez to sing backups on the cd and help him with the production of the cd. Naturally, as Nate’s parts started to become a part of the record, it only made sense to add him to the band as a second guitar player. To fill out the mix and give a full band, Table Top Joe also added cousin Jeremy Caudill on Bass guitar after the cd was released. With the full band, Table Top Joe soon became a band known for great intensity on stage and a band that was committed to playing the best show possible in all situations.

Table Top Joe is the name of a Tom Waits song off of his record “Alice”. Though Table Top Joe makes no claims that they sound like Tom Waits or that they are anywhere near as brilliant of songwriters as him, lead singer Danny Lopez does consider his lyrics to be a huge inspiration to the way that Table Top Joe songs are written. More importantly, Table Top Joe considers Tom Waits longevity to be a testament to a man who loves his craft no matter what the world thinks of it, and the band hopes to treat music in the same manner.
